Wicked Verbena

Wicked Verbena Blue
‘Wicked Blue’

Putting its own spin on nonstop color, the Wicked series offers unique bicolor flowers that add excitement to designs and combinations. These charming plants bloom constantly from summer until fall—just look at all the eye-catching flower clusters. This may be a designer series but to be honest, we like it because it’s fun.

Notice that the foliage here is finely cut—it forms an attractive mound. Plants are semi-upright and grow about 10 inches tall, with a spread of about 24 inches. They prefer full to partial sun but tolerate a range of weather conditions, requiring very little maintenance.

We have two stunning selections from the Wicked series: ‘Blue’ has violet-blue flowers toward the center of each cluster, surrounded by very pale blue-to-white ones. Our new ‘Hot Pink’ is similar, consisting of a ring of neon pink surrounded by rings of light pink-to-white. It’s a look you don’t see everyday.

Wicked Verbena Pink
‘Wicked Hot Pink’

‘Wicked Blue’ and ‘Wicked Hot Pink’ make great filler around geraniums in combination planters. We like the way they look interspersed with calibrachoas in hanging baskets and window boxes. Mixing them with other bright colors intensifies the blue and pink tones in the flower clusters. Of course, these varieties are striking by themselves, especially when planted near entryways or where there’s foot traffic for an up-close view.

‘Wicked Blue’ and ‘Wicked Hot Pink’ are available in the 8-inch pot. ‘Wicked Blue’ is also available in the 4.5-inch size.
