Erysimum ‘Citrona Yellow’—a vibrant blast of bright yellow for April and May

From a timing point of view, Erysimum is planted between Pansies (cool weather) and Vinca (warm weather). ‘Citrona Yellow’ gives us a vibrant blast of bright yellow color in April and May. We also find that the fragrance is a very nice, sweet surprise. This plant doesn’t last into the heat of summer, but when the color is there it’s a showstopper.

Plant Erysimum in a group for the best effect

‘Citrona Yellow’ forms a low, upright mound, reaching only about a foot tall and wide, and is simply covered with intense yellow flowers. For the best effect we plant it in a group, spaced 10–14 inches apart. It also works nicely in containers and butterfly gardens.
