Pepper ‘Biggie Chile’

Pepper Biggie Chile

This is the classic Anaheim-type chile pepper, only much larger. Big fruits are up to 9 inches long with nice, thick walls. They can be picked and eaten while they are green but will eventually mature to red.

Plants are strong and upright—and extremely vigorous. They produce high yields over a long harvest period. Notice the heavy leaf canopy protecting the fruits from sunburn.

Anaheim-type peppers are popular because they’re flavorful without too much heat—we’d actually classify this one as mild, at 500 Scovilles. Roasted and peeled, it’s a standard ingredient in fajitas. Sliced fresh it livens up sandwiches, salads, and salsa.

‘Biggie Chile’ is available in the 4.5-inch pot.
