Angelonia ‘Archangel™ Light Pink’

FN 1.14 ANG light pink
Angelonia ‘Archangel™ Light Pink’ - our new addition

Angelonia is one of our top picks for summer landscape beds and this year we have a pretty new light pink version from the Archangel™ series. It presents a nice alternative to the dark purples, bright pinks and pure white we normally see in summer snapdragons.

Blooms are three times the size of other varieties

We like the soft pink blanket that covers the landscape when we plant this variety en masse. Even though the flowers are huge—it’s an Archangel™, so they’re three times the size of other varieties—‘Light Pink’ is a gentle giant. It’s a thriller that doesn’t take over an entire design, subtly blending into combinations as a supportive color without overwhelming the other elements.

Stately angelonia is that rare combination of toughness and good looks; we turn to it again and again to breeze through the sun and high temps of summer in Cincinnati with minimal maintenance. Angelonia brings an abundance of color while standing up to drought as well as to heat and humidity, and it doesn’t require deadheading. If you’re not using this plant already, be sure to try some this year.

In addition to huge blooms, Ball Seed improved on heat tolerance when they developed the popular Archangel™ series. It comes in an ever-expanding range of vibrant colors, as well—the dark green foliage does a nice job of showing off the brilliant flowers.
