Heuchera ‘Southern Comfort’

FN 3.2 HEU Southern Comfort 1885 Monrovia copy
Lush, low foliage glows in the shade

We’re always looking for options when it comes to brightening shade areas of the landscape, and foliage is a great resource because it’s low-maintenance and the color lasts the whole season. ‘Southern Comfort’ fills the bill for autumn—it’s a smooth blend of cinnamon and peach that turns to burnished copper and then amber as the season progresses.

Notice the size of the foliage. ‘Southern Comfort’ has one of the largest leaves for an amber-toned variety and forms a dense clump, adding an extra measure of texture and form to displays for fall. We like heuchera because it’s lush and low—dramatic as an edging plant and generously filling the space when massed toward the front of the border.

You’ll find that containers become glowing cauldrons when filled with this radiant foliage. Place one in any dark, dingy spot that could use a nice warm shot of ‘Southern Comfort’.

This selection is available in the 6-inch pot.
